Can I claim my consultation with my private health fund?
Karen Land Naturopath is a registered practitioner which means you can claim your consultations with your private health fund. Karen Land Naturopath has HICAPS in clinic, so depending on your fund you may be able to claim between $20 and $50 back on the spot. If you are unsure if you are covered it’s best to check with your health fund.
What should I expect in my initial consultation?
On booking your consultation you will receive a questionnaire to complete and bring with you.
Your initial consultation will go for approximately 1 hour, depending on the complexity of your case and cost $90. In this time we will go over your health goals, family history, past and present illnesses, presenting complaints and conduct any necessary in clinic testing. If necessary, you may be required to have some pathology work done. An individualised treatment plan will be designed for you using all of this information. Some clients will require a follow up consultation to work through the treatment plan, depending on the complexity of the client.
If you have any recent blood tests/reports from your Dr, these are great to bring in. Also a list of all tablets prescribed by your GP and also any vitamins, minerals, herbs you may also be taking.
Follow up consultations take around 30 minutes and cost $60.
Can I safely use herbs/ nutritional supplements alongside my medications prescribed by my GP?
Individualised prescriptions are designed to safely combine and complement medications prescribed by your GP or health professional. Your prescription is carefully checked for contraindications with the medication/s prescribed by your GP.
How many appointments will I need?
This will be discussed within each consult.
There is no set amount of appointments, it depends on the individual and the presenting complaint. If a client follows diet and lifestyle changes and maintains supplements there is a higher chance of improving their condition quicker.
It’s different for everyone. No two people are the same and they often respond differently.
